Happy New Year! A look back
Hello hello! Remember me? I forgive you if you’ve forgotten, since it has been a while since I’ve been good about blogging consistently. It’s time for my annual “January: let’s do this” push, but this year I hope it sticks! Let’s dive right in, shall we?
This year had some great moments, and I’m choosing to focus on those and use them as foundation blocks for moving forward in 2017 after a fairly tumultuous year. A peek at some of my highlights of 2016:
1. I got back to wedding stationery
Rachel and Nate’s wedding at the Barn at Flanagan Farms in Maine was my first back from maternity leave, and it was AWESOME. You can check out more images from their celebration here, but look for the amazing 3 panel art piece guestbook I did for them in the slideshow! I love working with my amazing couples to create unique pieces for their wedding, and I am SO excited about the weddings already on the books for 2017.
2. I got back to watercolors
This was a big one for me – such a great year for commissions! What made it truly special for me was that I had many repeat clients, which is such an honor! I am really excited to move this forward with easier online ordering for portraits, and PDF instructions and tips for choosing a successful photo.
3. I got published
It was a fantastic year for styled shoots, and these are only the 3 that are ALREADY published… proud to announce a print feature and more online features from shoots last year too! You can check out the full gallery for each of the shoots here: Style Me Pretty || Grey Likes Weddings || Ruffled Blog So much more to come on this in 2017 too!
4. I got a tiny bit of my sanity back
By the end of the year getting any work done felt impossible, but the light at the end of the tunnel helped me get through! If you follow me on Instagram you may know that my little guy is now in preschool (which he LOVES) and I have my mornings back to take care of business! This is going to do incredible things for my productivity in 2017, and I’ll go into that in more detail on Monday when I look at moving forward.
