Have I got a cute portrait for you today – allow me to introduce Chandler!  This handsome gentleman hails from Houston, Texas, and has been keeping his mom, talented photographer Christina, smiling for the last 8 years.

Look at that grin! You can tell from his portrait that this pup is a happy-go-lucky guy: here’s how Christina describes how he came into her life.

“I adopted Chandler when he was 6 weeks old.  I found him through an ad on Craigslist. A college girl was fostering him and working with a local shelter to help find him a home. He was found on the side of a road with a few of his brothers and sisters and then taken to the animal shelter. I don’t know why I replied to the ad, there wasn’t even a picture. When I messaged the foster mom for a picture, she sent the puppy pic back to me. I about died when I saw how cute he was. When I went to meet him, I instantly fell in love. He was exactly what I was looking for. A little shy, clumsy, and loved to snuggle. I adopted him that day and we’ve been best buds ever since.

People always say Chandler is “such a chill dog”. We like to take nice long walks (not runs, lol), lay around watching TV, snuggling on the couch and he likes to watch me put on makeup and follows me around the house. He’s my travel buddy, riding along with me everywhere I go. He’s just a happy, lazy, giant furball! He’s pretty much always smiling, which is why I’m so happy you were able to capture that in this painting. Now I’ll be able to remember that smile forever.”
You’re so welcome Christina!  Thanks so much for sharing your story with us!
Thanks for checking out this week’s pet portrait! As with all of our pet portraits, 10% of the portrait fee was donated to Lost Dog and Cat Rescue to help more animals find their families.
