Featured Pet Portrait: Granger the German Shepherd Collie Mix

Featured Pet Portrait Series | watercolor pet portraits by Jenn Heller Design Co.

I am super delighted to share this week’s featured pet portrait: Miss Granger (Named after Hermione, of course)!  Her mom Alicia is a wonderful photographer, so you know the photos attached to this one are going to be good!

Here’s what Alicia had to say about this sweet girl:

“Granger was born a farm pup in Pennsylvania to a litter of two — just herself and her brother. We always joke that with how fast she devours her food (seriously, we had to invest in a slow feeder) that you’d think it was a litter of 20! Our family friends knew we were looking for a dog and once we saw her furry face, it was love at first sight — so after nearly 15 years of not having a dog, this one was finally mine and I was completely smitten.

Granger has taken several Petsmart training classes from puppy to advanced and even done a bit of “nose work” training! She eventually earned her Canine Good Citizen degree, but if you’ve ever met this dog, you know it may have been a fluke 🙂 Because while she can do almost anything for a treat, she can’t resist greeting our guests with a giant kiss slapped across their face! Her favorite part of the day is our daily walks where she gets to search for bunnies and squirrels to intimidate throughout our neighborhood!”

Every time I looked at the photos for her portrait I broke out into the biggest grin – this is one adorable pup!  Bonus skill: she also eats apples. Be sure to check out Alicia’s instagram – there are plenty of photos of Granger’s sweet face!

Thanks for checking out this week’s pet portrait! As with all of our pet portraits, 10% of the portrait fee was donated to Lost Dog and Cat Rescue to help more animals find their families.
